ISCOTDEC is committed to serving the greater LGBTQ+ Community across Washington State through its Historic Programs such as The Gay Washington Pageant. Since 1970 The gay Washington Pageant has been an integral part of Washington State LGBTQ+ History and Visibility. Reimagined in 2022 as a County by County and Non Urban Population Center Event, we aim to make the next 50 years as vital to local LGBTQ+ individuals and organzations as possible.
ISCOTDEC as a structured organization has served the South Puget Sound and Southwestern Washington Region since 1975. With our roots going back to 1970 with the Miss Gay Washington Pageant, formed in Tacoma at that time. Along with other lossely held local LGBTQ+ groups during at that time. ISCOTDEC solidified its structure and has been a vital and important part of the regions LGBTQ+ History ever since.
Headquartered in Tacoma, WA ISCOTDEC now functions in a Statewide Capacity as one the very few LGBTQ+ Organizations with such a Mandate. Again, utilizing the rich tapestry that has been woven through The Historic and Legendary Gay Washington Pageant. Reaching out to both Large and Small Local Communities in a reimagined way to help those communities thrive and serve the LGBTQ+ individuals and organizations which populate even our most rural cities and town. Ensuring that ALL LGBTQ+ people know that they are seen, heard and cared about. No matter where they might live in Washington State.
